Located near Chatfield Reservoir and Roxborough State Park in the Master Planned community of Sterling Ranch, this eleven building community is made of 3-story walkup buildings and a stand-alone single-story clubhouse, along with detached garages, carports and a tenant storage building. The architectural design for this project is inspired by the historical Colorado Mining vernacular. The design utilizes the warm natural material selections of stone and wood, and creates variety in a campus made of almost identical buildings by using differing color schemes.

Located in the Master Planned Uplands community in Westminster, this 276-unit garden style project with a standalone clubhouse provides much needed ‘missing middle’ housing to the northern part of the metro area. Buildings are placed parallel to public streets with parking located behind.. The use of tuck-under parking and car ports mitigate the amount of asphalt, and the center of the site contains a large park like space anchored by the clubhouse and pool deck.

A 3-story garden style project is designed with an urban feel on a Wheatridge site. The contemporary design engages strongly with the surrounding streetscape and building masses conceal parking areas from public view. On the non-street side the buildings provide tuck-under parking which ensures the interior of the site is not a field of asphalt. The center of the sire is anchored by the pool courtyard accompanied by the clubhouse which is tucked into one of the residential buildings.

A Senior Affordable project was created at the site of a vacant old office building in the leafy green University Hills neighborhood. Located adjacent to the Denver Academy school building, the design uses red and brown brick found in the school structures along with the Wrightian aesthetic of the mid-century homes found in south Denver to create a unique design that appears stately as well as exciting. To avoid the noise from I-25, the 4th floor outdoor amenity is shielded by the structure from the highway as it takes in mountain views and overlooks the school campus. The site was designed to preserve as many of the mature trees in the property as possible.

An existing senior housing community had leftover land which created an opportunity to place this new family affordable project, thereby creating a true multigenerational campus. The design was optimized for a modular execution but after detailed analysis it was ultimately deemed infeasible. Regardless, the stringent discipline and repetition imposed on the design in pursuit of modularization still created a very cost-effective design very amenable to prefabrication. Site amenities were designed to take into the multigenerational nature of the campus.

A Transit Oriented Development located near the Wadsworth Station on the W line, this 5-story ‘wrap’ leverages Lakewood’s upper story step back requirement to create linear balconies at the 5th floor. The residential structure wraps the vertical garage to completely conceal it from public view. The project optimizes density by locating most of its outdoor amenities on a large and highly amenitized roof deck with 360 degree views.

This active adult community is located along C-470. The challenge along the west façade was to take advantage of the spectacular view while also having to mitigate highway noise. Another design challenge was the elongated site with a significant slope. The resulting design uses detached garages along the west boundary as sound walls and breaks the façade into a highly articulated mass that both beaks up the highways sound and presents a animated and vibrant façade frequently animated with balconies. the building cuts into the hill to give the appearance of a 3-story building for half of the building’s width. A fully enclosed pool courtyard ensures protection from highway noise.

This 100 unit workforce project for Mercy Housing is located on the historic Teikyo Loretto / Colorado Heights University Campus, right across the street from the historic Pancratia Hall, which also houses affordable dwellings. The use of red brick, pale stucco, and dark cornices is inspired from the existing historic architecture of on the campus, but the overall affect is contemporary.
